Hello!

Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy

Hello! I am Jeannine Meijer, your Bowen Therapist.

After being affected with some medical conditions, I was told by Drs and Specialists that there was nothing else they could do for me. I was drowning in pain and weakness. Fearing for my young family that I was going to slowly become useless, I started sinking into dispair. A good friend of mine with chronic issues of her own gave me a life changing number of the local Bowen Therapist that she says she couldn't live without.

The pain and muscle disfunction were never-ending. One phone call and just one visit, the Bowen practitioner took the pain and muscle disfunction away.

In disbelief, I thought I needed to find out more information about this natural therapy that could do the impossible. Each step was followed by another and 5 years later I have beome that caring practitioner that many others can come to.

You may only have a muscle pain or you may feel like you are drowning like I was. I am here to treat you and hopefully together we can get you back to full health.

Don't wait. Take that first step in caring for yourself today.

You are worth it!

History Of Bowen Therapy.

Bowen Therapy is named after its founder- Thomas Ambrose Bowen (1916-1982). Tom Bowen started developing his technique in the 1950’s, in Geelong, Australia. He began to recognise that certain moves that were performed on the body were producing effects. He continued learning and refining the technique over his lifetime. His clinic in Geelong was tremendously successful. In 1974, Tom met Oswald Rentsch and Oswald inquired about learning the technique. The following Wednesday at 9am Oswald began learning from Tom and continued for the following 2 and a half years. With the help of Tom’s secretary Rene Horwood, Oswald was able to produce written information detailing Tom’s technique.

In 1976 Oswald and his wife Elaine, started their own clinic in Hamilton Victoria using Tom’s instructions.

After Thomas Ambrose Bowen’s death, Ossie and Elaine name the it The Bowen Technique. They held seminars and began teaching throughout Australia and eventually opened their Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 1987 (which is now known as Bowtech).

Ossie and Elain have expanded their teachings to reach many countries, producing many instructors who are accredited and registered with the Academy.

The Bowen Technique has changed so many lives and transformed the medical field, many health professionals are impressed with its diversity to bring healing to many different conditions.
